Yarn alternatives
If you prefer a lighter sweater, you can use Tynn Peer Gynt paired with a following thread e.g. silk mohair. The sweater can also be made with Hjelholt Dansk Pelsuld 5,5/2 (100 g = 275 m).
Recommended needles
3 mm and 4 mm circular [U23 and US6] needles, 40 and 80 cm [16 and 32 inches].
3 and 4 mm [US2 and US6] double pointed needles.
2,5 mm [US2] circular needle, 40 cm [16 inches] for the neckline.
If using magic loop, you do not need double pointed needles.
Gauge
21 sts x approx. 28 rows rice stitch pattern = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] on 4 mm [US6] needles.
Construction note
Worked top-down with raglan increases. The first rows are worked flat with increases to shape the neckline, after which the sweater is joined and worked in the round. When all raglan increases are worked, the body and sleeves are worked separately. The neckband is worked at the end.
Choose your size
Cara sweater is shown here with approx. 14 cm [5,5 inches] positive ease. The length is measured at the centre back, not including the neckband.
