The "Hjem" blanket pattern are made with yarn that knits to a gauge of 27 sts in stockinette = 4 in / 10 cm on needles U.S. sizes 2-3 / 3 mm. That means you can knit with exactly the fibers you like best – wool, cotton, silk, alpaca, or a blend. The blanket shown is knitted with a alpaca/silk-yarn (50 g = 219 yd / 200 m).

Larger blanket?
If you knit the blanket with a yarn for needle US size 6 / 4 mm NS with a gauge of 22 sts = 4 in / 10 cm, the blanket has a width of 28 in / 70 cm. Work the pattern, until the blanket is approx. 32,5 in / 82 cm long, before you start knitting the edge. This gives you a total measurement of 28 x 34 in / 70 x 86 cm. The amount of yarn is about 350 g.
