Recommended needles
Circular needles 3 and 3,5 mm, 40 and 80 cm [US 2.5 and US4, 16 and 32”].
Double pointed needles 3 mm [US 2.5] for the rib on the long sleeved blouse (unless you use the magic loop method).
Gauge
23 sts x approx. 32 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4”] on 3,5 mm [US 4] needles.
Construction note
First, the top of the back is knitted. Then stitches are picked up for the front along the shoulder stitches of the back. Each side of the front is knitted separately. The slanted shoulders are shaped with short rows. Stitches are then picked up for the top of the sleeve, and the front, back and sleeves are worked (at the same time) until the end of the armhole. From there, the body and sleeves are knitted separately. Finally, stitches are picked up for the neckline edge.
Size guide
Maria Blouse is designed to have approx. 10-16 cm [4-6.25”] of positive ease. Maria blouse is shown with approx. 14 cm [5.5”] of positive ease, meaning the blouse is shown on a model with a bust circumference that is 14 cm [5.5”] smaller than the bust circumference of the blouse.
Find your personal bust circumference by measuring around your chest (or the largest part of your upper body). Then look at the measurements at the beginning of the pattern (these are the finished measurements of the sweater). Positive ease is the difference between your personal measurement and the sweater's measurement.
For example, if your bust circumference is 94 cm [37”], a size S/M will give you a positive ease of 10 cm [4”] (104 cm – 94 cm = 10 cm) [41”- 37” = 4”]
